Dr. Robert L. Peiffer graduated from the University of Minnesota
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1971. He completed a small animal internship
at Iowa State University before returning to a small animal practice in Minneapolis.
He subsequently went to Purdue University for a surgical residency and back to University
of Minnesota for ophthalmology training as a NIH fellow. He worked as a researcher,
educator, and director of a region-wide veterinary referral practice for 24 years
at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He became Board Certified by
the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1981. Dr. Pefieffer joined
VCVR in 2004.

Dr. Mary L. Landis graduated from Temple University in 1995 with
a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in mathematics. In 1996, she
obtained a Master’s degree from Temple University in Physical Chemistry. She was
a research associate at the Barnett Institute of Materials Science at Northeastern
University in Boston, Massachusetts where she received several awards for
her accomplishments in research and for excellence in teaching prior to returning
to the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated from the School of Veterinary
Medicine in 2004. She was a general practioner at Doylestown Animal Medical
Center and an emergency clinician for one year after graduation prior to beginning
her residency in 2005.
