Doctors 

 

Dr. Carlos Hodges graduated from Tuskegee University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985; he completed both a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a one-year fellowship in surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  The next four years he spent in a surgical residency program at Texas A & M University, College of Veterinary Medicine.  In 1990, he accepted an appointment as the Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics at the teaching hospital of the Texas Veterinary Medical Center at Texas A & M University. He became the founder of VCVRC in 1996.

 

 

Dr. Phil Zeltzman graduated from the University of Liege, in Belgium in 1993.  He worked as a general practitioner for three years in his native city of Paris, France.  He then moved to the United States to complete his internship at the University of Georgia and his surgical residency at Surgical Referral Service near Chicago, IL.  Additional course work for the residency program was completed at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois. He is a certified surgeon for the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy and has extensive experience with TPLO surgeries.

Dr. Zeltzman enjoys lecturing and has published numerous articles on various surgical topics.  His interests include all aspects of orthopedic, soft tissue, oncologic, neuro-surgery, physical therapy and emergency cases. He became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2007. Dr. Zeltzman joined VCVRC in 2006.
